Cordelia Williams − Piano
Since becoming the Piano Winner of BBC Young Musician 2006, Cordelia has given recital and concerto performances throughout Great Britain as well as in France, Italy, Thailand and the Gulf States, continuing to build a career as ‘one of the outstanding pianists of her generation’. She has recently become a Steinway Artist.
This season has included debut recitals at the Royal Festival Hall and the Barbican Centre in London. Other performance highlights have been a recital at the Wigmore Hall and concerto appearances with Northern Sinfonia (under Yan Pascal Tortelier and subsequently Thomas Zehetmair) and City of London Sinfonia. Future plans include recital tours of China and Thailand, and a concerto performance with the London Mozart Players.
Cordelia is a passionate chamber musician she has performed with the Endellion and Fitzwilliam String Quartets and will work with the Maggini Quartet later this year. She also runs Cafe Muse, her own series of events in London, bringing classical music out of the concert hall and into trendy bars and brasseries. Cordelia studied at Clare College, Cambridge, gaining a First in Theology, and is currently completing a Masters in Performance at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, London.
