Philip Sheffield − Bass

Philip has been performing opera all over the world for over 20 years. Appearances in 2010 have been as Tichon, Katya Kabanova at Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, Reverend Adams Peter Grimes at the Vlaamse Opera, various roles in Candide in Tokyo and Osaka and Robin in For You by Michael Berkeley in Rome. Other recent highlights have included Tom Rakewell in Rakes Progress at La Monnaie in Brussels, The Prince in Das Märchen for Lisbon Opera, Orlando in Haydn’s Orlando Paladino in Tokyo, and Jonathan Dove’s opera Kwasi and Kwame for OT Rotterdam. He has performed as a principal artist at La Scala Milan, Royal Opera Covent Garden, Opéra Comique Paris, Netherlands Opera Amsterdam, English National Opera, Le Châtelet Paris, Glyndebourne Festival, Vlaamse Opera among others. He is also very active in the concert world and well known for his performances of Britten’s War Requiem and the Passions of J S Bach.
