Notices
Important notices will be posted here, so you should check back regularly. Urgent notices will also be sent to the email lists, so you are strongly encouraged to join the appropriate list if you haven’t already done so.- [06/08/2008] Rehearsals begin again on Monday 8th September 2008 (orchestra) and Tuesday 9th September (chorus) at Chesterton Community College Farnsworth Hall.
- [25/06/2003] Chesterton Community College have asked us to leave more quickly when we finish, and not stand gossipping in the hall or the car-park: their custodian needs to lock up and is only paid to the end of our booking time (9.45pm). Perhaps people wanting to chat could go along to the pub instead? It’s really much nicer there!
- [16/11/2003] Lost Property? If anyone realises they have left something at Chesterton they should contact the site officers (or leave a message on their phone) on 01223 712150 ext 118. They will be in school before any pupils arrive so can check rooms and lost property etc early in the morning.

Social !
Members of the orchestra go to The Castle after the Monday rehearsals. Similarly, members of the chorus go to The Old Spring after the Tuesday rehearsals. Everybody in the Phil is welcome to join us on either night. Conversations are good, and not just musical! The Castle is on Castle Hill, next to the County Council car park (which is open and empty at that time of night). The Old Spring is on Chesterton Road, just east of Mitcham’s Corner: it has a small car park, or you can usually find spaces on the surrounding streets. Both pubs serve a good selection of real ales.
There are also occasional events organised by individual members: to find out
about these, come along to the pub, or join the social email list.

Email lists
In order to help us save time in rehearsals and keep costs down, we now send
out most notices by email.
For many people, email is the best way to disseminate urgent messages (e.g. same-day notification of changes in arrangements) so if you have regular access to email we strongly recommend you subscribe to the list to ensure you are kept informed.
Also, as agreed at the 2003 AGM, from now on notification of the AGM will be via email and the papers will be available from the website for all members for whom we have an email address. This will save the Society hundreds of pounds every year in stationery and postage.
If you do not have access to email, please make sure your section leader (if you’re in the orchestra) or one of the committee (if you’re in the choir) knows that so they can make sure to give you paper copies of any messages.
The email lists will only ever be used for official announcements from the Society Committee or messages approved by them.
To subscribe to the lists, please send a blank email either to chorus-members-subscribe@cam-phil.org.uk or to orchestra-members-subscribe@cam-phil.org.uk as appropriate. You will receive a confirmation token, which you need to send back to verify that your email address is recorded correctly.
There is more information about the mailing lists here, including how to unsubscribe or change your email address.
