Katie Derham to conduct Cambridge Philharmonic Society!

Katie Derham, ITV newsreader and presenter and a contestant in the BBC’s recent “Maestro” series, will join the Philharmonic as a guest conductor at their concert performance of “Die Fledermaus” on 6th December 2008.

During the BBC series, Katie was one of eight celebrities to try their hand at conducting a symphony orchestra, plus soloists and a chorus. Katie was coached in conducting skills by former Cambridge Philharmonic conductor Matthew Rowe.

At the concert, Katie will conduct Johann Strauss’ “Radetsky March”, which is often included in performances of “Die Fledermaus” (Johann Strauss II).
